Modern techniques

Microscope

The microscope in the photo can magnify 25 times! Compared to the dental loupes we use in everyday practice, which magnify 8 times more. This helps in investigating cracks and fractures in teeth that hurt without any obvious clinical findings. It is also essential in microsurgery for apical lesions and bone resorptions. The dental world through the microscope takes on a different dimension.

Electronic Scanner

Impressions with an electronic scanner are a much easier process than traditional impressions with trays and putty. It is much faster, much more precise, offers immediate display on a screen, has storage capabilities, allows for direct sending to remote labs, and offers much easier design and execution possibilities by the dental lab.

What is digital scanning

It is a technology that allows the recording and capturing of the teeth and mouth using special scanners. This technique replaces traditional impressions with elastomeric materials.

How does digital scanning work

It creates three-dimensional digital models of the mouth, allowing one to digitally design all dental restorations and then produce them using CAD CAM technology.

What are the benefits

Precise impressions, the ability to transfer data to remote labs in real-time, and the faster production of restorations.

Finally, the greater comfort for the patient.

What are 3D printers

The data from digital impressions can be used to directly create both transitional and permanent prosthetic restorations in the clinic.

What is CBCT X-ray

It is a form of three-dimensional digital radiography. One can view the actual dimensions of the bone where the implantation is planned to take place.

Is CBCT always necessary in implant dentistry?

No, most of the time it is not necessary. Prescribing this radiograph is not essential; however, it is extremely valuable in extreme situations where we want to be sure of the dimensions of the receiving bone.

What is the robotic process in dental implantology?

The actual robotic implantation process is a complex operation that requires advanced sensor systems and robotic engineering. In the case of dental implantology, there is not enough evidence to show that it provides significantly greater accuracy and ease.

On the other hand, there is a hybrid digital design process, which is wrongly called robotic, and it consists of the full digital design of the implant placement and immediate restoration. This technique is only applicable when we want to load the implant immediately after having previously prepared the prosthetics based on this design.
